This Week in Reno {September 9-15, 2014}

This Week in Reno is a weekly feature. Rather than trying to put up a comprehensive list of everything happening in the upcoming week, every Tuesday I’ll post a curated list of events that are noteworthy or look like fun to me. I’ll let you know which I plan to attend, so make sure to say hey if you see me! If you have an event coming up in the Reno/Sparks/Tahoe area, email me at shauntagrimes@gmail.com.

Last Week

I’ve lived in Reno for three years and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get to the Great Balloon Race. Sure, it meant getting up at 4:30 in the morning, but it was totally worth it! A friend of mine lives directly behind the park where the balloons launch, and she invited us over for a breakfast/balloon watching party. It was spectacular!

Ruby and I also caught a UNR women’s soccer game at Moana Field. They won! Ruby’s favorite part was when they let the kids come on the field and kick around giant soccer balls during halftime.
